The Defensive End
This Saddleback Caterpillar was found eating an unknown plant on a night hike in Costa Rica. It took me awhile to to decipher which end was it's head because these caterpillars use a defensive mechanism which makes there tail end look like their head. The bright colors and venomous spines are also a good defense mechanism. Shot with a reversed 50mm and flash on a sync cable.
