I took this shot near Munshi Ghat, in Varanasi, where artists from all over the world gather to paint graffiti on the walls or make music on the ghat steps. This painter was writing "Om Gan Ganapatye Namah" in Hindi beneath a deity of Lord Ganesh, also called Ganapati. This is Lord Ganesh's main mantra which means the devotee is offering salutations to the Lord of the World. The walls of the ghat are adorned with varied graffiti, ranging from spiritual content to Mahatma Gandhi and Mandela.
