A quiet moment of reflection
The monastery of Decan in Kosovo was found in 1327 and its frescoes completed in 1350. In 2004, the monastery was placed on UNESCOs World Heritage List due to its valued examples of Byzantine painting. In 2006 it was added to the list of World Heritage in Danger due to potential attacks by ethnic Albanians, and is now protected by the UNs' KFOR.
