My round plastic memory of childhood
The local convenience stores in Iran have a large basket of two-coloured plastic balls that are the most common in any neighbourhood. Almost everyone from Iran have a memory of this ball. I took this when I was walking in old town, Yazd during my last visit to the motherland and saw these kids playing with a plastic ball. It took me back to my childhood. Home, for me, is where we have memories. Home is the moment when we kicked the ball into submission. Home is where we played, loved and lived.
the converging lines in this composition are just perfect to send you into the image. the only improvement could be the light pole coming out of the taller boy's head. always check for this which can undermine your best intentions. Your story of the common striped ball in Yazd is meaningful - i've been there. the empty street and direct gaze of these boys must remind you of yourself. really a pleasure to look at this Iranian neighborhood.
