April 8, 2014 noticed this pheasant eating the exposed gravel between the road and the snow bank. They had a severe winter in that area and wondering how he survived. The snow banks were level with the window height of my truck so was able to get an almost eyelevel shot of this colourful bird. I have been driving this highway for 40+ years and this is the first time I have spotted one here.
