I saw the egg case through the window to our yard attached to a branch and watched day after day for the babies to emerge. My children had just studied praying mantis in school and had a science kit in the classroom of the egg case. We were thrilled to find one in our yard! I removed the branch and put it in a brown bag to be sure we wouldn't miss the anticipated event and checked often on its progress. The day came when babies began to emerge, and we returned the case to the yard.
