Collide
An oil rig gas flare lights up a cloud in the Western North Dakota sky while the Northern Lights were active. Flaring is the process in which natural gas is separated and disposed from the crude oil been extracted. With 192 oil rigs scattered across the state as of April 2014, flaring has become an issue due to the light pollution been emitted. I wanted to show what is like to live in a place were the sky has been contaminated by the swift growth of the oil industry.
