Australian Wedge-tailed eagle
The Australian wedge-tailed eagle is the largest bird of prey in Australia and one of the largest birds of prey in the world, with a wingspan of up to 2.27 m (7 ft 5 in) and a length up to 1.06 m (3 ft 6 in).
The subspecies from Tasmania (Aquila audax fleayi) is listed as endangered by the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 with fewer than 200 pairs left in the wild.
