I think this is a moth instead of a butterfly. I thought it was a dead leaf on the kitchen counter. When I tried to brush it away, it took off flying and scared me so badly that I jumped backwards and screamed. The dog immediately jumped to his feet and went on a barking rampage through the house. Such a commotion over nothing! When it finally landed again I took this photo.
