These two men were observing a cultural demonstration put on by members of Jidao Miao Village. I was part of their culture for a week with students I was travelling with, joining in farm work, helping in the school, and enjoying the lovely atmosphere. Being an outsider is uncomfortable, but the Miao people were inviting and disarming on all fronts - this photo included! I loved their faces and had intended to capture a more stoic moment, but as soon as they saw the camera they hammed it up!
