    This exhausted- looking new Mum had started her evening hunt very early, obviously anticipating a long session. She was right: over the course of two hours we watched as she targeted, then abandoned, possible prey. Here she allowed a male impala walk right past her because his large horns would have seriously damaged her if she didn't have complete element of surprise; he was just out of range.
