I found this Rosy Maple Moth flying around a lamp post in my driveway. I quickly brought it to a white piece of paper that I've been using to shoot insects and small flowers similar to Joel Sartore's work on endangered animals. I was amazed by how foreign this creature looked. The next night I went out and there were dozens more swarming around the light. I had never noticed this animal before and yet they outnumbered me in the moment and paid little attention to my presence.
