This Green Heron was fishing in the same vicinity around a lagoon in Dead Horse Ranch State Park for several hours, and after many failed attempts, the bird gradually allowed me to approach closer and closer until I was lying on the ground about 15-20 feet from the heron. I took hundreds of frame and was constantly adjusting shutter speed, ISO, etc. This shot was taken with the Nikon D5100, Nikkor 300mm f4 AF-S, and Induro tripod with Velbon ball head.
