just before sunset, after hours in the exquisite temple, with its marble lace ceilings, i ran outside to my friends the langurs. after posing for me and running around creating endless patterns of grey-gold-black-beige and almost yellow fur legs, arms, tails, and gleaming black eyes, all of them rushed into the trees, becoming part of that lace-like perfectly patterned universe, the gold of the sun, the black of the branches, rhyming the rhythm of their limbs with the dance of the branches.
