Sulfur Worker
Why is your sugar white?
This is a picture from a sulfur worker on the Ijen Volcano / East Java. He carries about 70 - 90 kilos per route (7 km), 2 times a day, 7 days a week. The miners mainly wear slippers, old clothes and wet rags as a breathing mask. It's only a matter of time before back and feet are deformed and the lung is destroyed. Despite everything, they always have a smile on their lips ... and time for a cigarette break.
