Trail above Yosemite Falls
Just above Yosemite Falls, a sturdy footbridge leads the trail another mile (and some 300 feet of additional elevation) to precipitous Yosemite Point with its expansive views of the valley far below. The inviting pools here are great for cooling your tired feet, but only from a safe perch on the rocky bank. A full dip in the water is ill-advised. The watercourse is of highly polished granite, and a slip might afford little chance to arrest yourself before reaching the lip of the waterfall.
