Hanging out after Midnight
An Eastern Broad-nosed Bat (Scotorepens orion) hanging out on a tree upon release from being captured the previous night as part of a post-Black Saturday bushfire fauna survey at Kinglake, Victoria, Australia. The bats are released in the evening, or late at night when diurnal predators such as Eagles and Kites will not be a threat to them. These beautiful, tiny micro bats are only the size of a mans thumb!
