    York Minster's Stoneyard is responsible for conserving and replacing nearly 3,500 stones on the East End for the York Minster Revealed project as well as maintaining the Minster and its grounds. The Stonemasons are a skilled group of masons and carvers that still use the same traditional skills to adorn the Minster today as they would of done centuries ago. the first church built on this site was in AD 180
