    Edit Photo Details The Burren   #ireland #travel #theburren #travelogue #countyclare
This is the Burren, in County Clare, a rough rocky coastal terrain of naked gray limestone. It appears a useless land and produced the famous lines, "had not a tree to hang a man, nor enough water to drown him, nor enough earth to bury him". Ireland's climate is famously wet and this area produces small scattered wild flowers that battle to bring life to the area. It can be beautiful in its vastness and some believe contains Ireland's richest flora in the spaces between the rocks.
