The Baldwin's Tower
The Baldwin's Tower behind the ruins of a church within the Zar's complex in Veliko Tarnovo. During the 4th Crusade, in 1204, the knights conquered Constantinople (now Istanbul) instead of the Holy Lands. They grounded there a little kingdom called "Latin Empire". Next year, they started a war with the northern kingdom - Bulgaria, and were defeated. During the battle, almost the whole Latin army was killed, the Latin emperor Baldwin was taken prisoner. He died in Bulgaria's capital Tarnovo.
