This assignment was a perfect opportunity for me to take this image that I had envisioned since I first saw the arch. I waited several nights for clear enough weather and was beginning to worry that the deadline would pass before it happened; finally, last night's weather forecast showed clear skies, so I got up at 1:00 a.m. this morning and drove up above La Garita, CO where the arch is, set up, and managed to get this image taken with four minutes to spare - 3:56 a.m.!
