I took this picture on a recent trip to Amritsar, Punjab, India. The golden temple is the holiest of Sikh Shrines in the world. At any point in time of the day there are thousands of visitors. I was surprised to see, that even at 2 in the night people (including me) were patiently standing in lines to pay homage. As you step into the compound, the beauty of the golden temple tends to take your breath away and the concept of night and day becomes hazy.
