I had my two dogs out on a hot summer afternoon. I let them lead me a little then crouched down and gave a call whistle. They stopped in their tracks and raced back to me at full tilt. My boxer mix, young and vigorous, led the race, with my aging lab, still young at heart, bringing up the rear. These photos of the passing lives of dogs leave me with mixed feelings. One @ her beginning, one near his end, both living in the moment. that's what matters. that makes me smile.. and wipe away the tear.
