Portrait of an Egg
I rescued this gorgeous hand-blown egg, half-crushed by ungentle fingers, from an estate sale of a neighbor whom I had known for a long time. She was over 90 years old and I have no doubt this beautiful work was done by her or someone back home in Germany many decades ago. I have no way but photography to preserve the wonderful, crushed egg, but I hope this photo captures the sense of beauty and old dignity that I felt when taking it. A tribute to the artist, long ago, who made this work of art!
