Alpha Female
Like their wild counterparts, the Seattle Zoo pack lives in a hierarchical society. You can pick out the alpha female by watching her behavior. She is playful but also the most relaxed, so she tends to hang out on the higher ground while the most submissive wolf spends much of her time at the lower slopes of the areaspring. There are 4 female gray wolves in the pack which were born at the New York State Zoo and arrived in Seattle in 2011. the shot was taken in 2013.
