Jimmy Boy
I met Jimmy Boy in an alley, on a cold February day in Calgary. He insisted I take a seat against the hot air vent and cover my legs with a cardboard box for warmth. I hoped to capture his openness and resilience in the face of homelessness. This photo is much more than a portrait to me: it's an unforgettable experience reminding me that human beings are infinitely interesting. Every person has a story. He shared his and then allowed me one, and only one, shot.
