This little insect was only about a centimeter or two in length. It is the most interesting insect I've ever seen in my hometown in Southeast Michigan, United States. The long snout, white tufts on the back-end of the abdomen, and pink coloration set this insect apart from all the other native insects I've observed in Michigan! Luckily, I had a macro lens with me when I spotted it, so I snapped a couple shots before it hopped off.
