God's Work
I was photographing the interior of an old church late in the afternoon, when I saw the Janitor mopping the stone floor between the pews.
He looked so contented and joyful in his work as he earnestly went about his cleaning. I loved the way the light, as if heaven sent framed his shoulders. I thought the scene was wonderfully infused with a mixture of divine and earthly light. I was reminded of the old adage “Hands to work, Hearts to God!” The Janitor never saw me, as I
entered his world.
