Standing tall - 800 years on.......
The Qutab Minar was built by Emperor Qutab-ud-din-Aibak in 1193 as a monument of his victory over the Hindu kings. It stands 73 metres tall with the diamater of the base measuring at 15 metres. It tapers upward and is 2.5 metres in diameter at the top. Red sandstone has been used in the construction of this tower. The tower has a slight tilt - about 2 feet from vertical. This monument is on UNESCO's World Heritage List
