My father-in-law, who recently moved in with my husband and I, also took up stamp collecting when a box of stamps was given to him. He is delighted to sit and study each detail of the stamps, comparing them to his books on stamps for hours on end. He isn't happy with unused stamps. He wants stamps that have been used, that have been somewhere, and been in other peoples hands...stamps that have a story to tell.
