Gion Festival with 1000 years of history
Gion Festival is one of the biggest festivals in Japan with more than 1000 years of history and is the most well-known summer feature of Kyoto. All the float carts of the parade are built without using any single nails and all the parts are tied up with ropes. And there are about 50 people on the biggest float cart and you can really hear the ropes creaking when it starts moving. The weight of the float can get more than 10t and people drag them and walk around Kyoto.
