The Greek or Showy milkweed is considered a weed and a wildflower. I found this in a park where it had been carefully planted. The stars are perfect. This is an excellent example of real world math. I use copies of this photo with my students to teach lines, rays, angles, and how to measure them. Upon seeing this photo for the first time, my students are always surprised that stars exist in nature. The goal is to measure as many angles as they can, and label them as acute, right, and obtuse.
