Last night I took my sister and her family to a beach near our house on Cape Cod to experience what it's like exploring the beach at low tide. Our area has some of the largest tidal flats on the eastern seaboard and one can discover all sorts of interesting sea creatures when the tide goes out. My niece brought her bucket and it was soon filling up with clam shells, dead crabs, skate egg pods, hermit crabs etc. It's just a magical piece of nature right in our back yard that I never get tired of.
