The mythical castle of Methoni
As many years if we spend it will remain a majestic place with a great history...
It is one of the most important greek entrenchments where Methoni during Middle Ages was an intermediate station for the christians to rest during their trip to the Holy Lands. It is unknown when it was entrenched for the first time. It is referred that in 1205 the Franks entrenched it and in 1206 the Venetians demolished it. In 1209 they occupied and built the present castle and the port of the settlement
