Invader
Due to its ability to displace native species & disrupt natural processes, the air potato has been listed as one of Florida’s most invasive plant species. It kills by growing to the canopy and cutting off sunlight to any plant beneath it. We have tried in vain for years to keep it from taking over the beautiful woods behind our house. The previous owners planted it because they liked how it climbed their latticework, unwittingly leaving an indelible mark on our wilderness.
