Watching the Magnificent Frigates swoop and soar over Rio Jama (Manabi Province) in Ecuador highlights my days. These were coming home to roost in the rapidly-vanishing mangroves which were replaced by boulders to control currents along the last bend of the river. Will man every learn that Nature usually takes care of herself if left alone?
