This is Eastfield train depot, which used to be part of the much larger Cowlairs maintenance area which was closed in the 60s. It reminds me of a line from a Paul Simon song-- "Everybody loves the sound of a train in the distance". The train in the picture is emerging from what I think is the railway equivalent of a car wash used for train units.
