In Costa Rica we had to hire a 4x4 taxi to power over the craggy road down the Osa Peninsula towards Carate and Corcovado National Park. Along the way we stopped a few times for various sightings, here a statuesque roadside hawk (Rupornis magnirostris) perches atop a fallen tree.
