I spent a morning exploring historic Portsmouth Island, a former bustling NC seaport that's now a ghost town. No one lives there, but the village and houses are intact and furnished. It's hard to get to without a seaworthy boat and a good knowledge of the ever-changing channels. The foreground grasses and shapes of the trees caught my eye, so I took a few shots. I liked that the ground seemed to be swallowing up this house. It speaks to the mystery and isolation of the house and the island.
