After Thanksgiving one year there was a leftover store-bought pumpkin pie and all the guests had gone. I thought the birds might enjoy a treat so I set it out on a stone. Sure enough, lots of jays and magpies came swooping in to tear the pie apart and smaller birds reaped the fallout. As I watched from my front door this coyote's nose brought him (her?) right up close. But, alas, he was too late to get any pie. Harsh contrast/lighting, but thought his expression was worth sharing.
