We had taken a day trip to see the desert when I was staying in China's Xinjiang Provence, and I climbed up a rickety, old watch tower to get this photo of my friends and some locals. We were taking turns rolling down some sand dunes for fun! I loved the vast, stark expanse of the landscape contrasting with my friends colorful clothes and playful nature in the foreground, and in my head I could picture the whole landscape beginning to blossom.
