Peaceful Place
This is the beautiful Church Nave at the Old Mission San Juan Bautista. The mission was founded on June 24, 1797. The church was enclosed in 1812. You can find paw prints on some of the floor tiles. They were left by animals while the tiles were drying in the sun. At the front of the church is the Sanctuary & Reredos. The alter screen was painted by a Boston sailor Thomas Doak in 1818. The Mission sits along the San Andreas Fault.
