While in Guatemala, our guide gets a xaman to celebrate a ceremony for us. He blesses us, our families and our friends along with the rivers and the mountains. He asks for rain, because of the drought, with no rain for the previous 45 days. He offers to the gods candles, chocolate, brandy, spices,etc. which he burns while reciting words in a Maya language.
