My sister and I woke up before the dawn and hiked a nearby hill to welcome in the day. I most wanted to capture the texture of the desert, coupled with feelings of expansiveness and the quiet serenity I associate with the desert. I purposefully set my sister and the sun far apart to illustrate the feeling of isolation one can feel even in the midst of civilization. I used HDR to blend the exposures of two photos.
