Mitre peak of Milford Sound is perhaps the most commonly photographed mountain in the country of New Zealand. I find it incredible that such a picturesque fiord can capture the essence of all of Southland and draw in travelers worldwide all year long to give them a taste of this relatively unsettled land. Ironically, the first explorers missed this sound on their initial trip due to frequent bad weather and conditions, yet now it is one of the most visited locations of New Zealand.
