we spent a couple of weeks hiking in the backcountry in BC & Alberta, but as we came to the end of the trip we still hadn't seen any of canada's signature charismatic megafauna - until, as we were hiking down from the stanley glacier in kootenay national park, this fella raised his antlers from the
