Himalaya
A Shivalinga flanked by the Bhagirathi peaks and the Shivalinga peak on the right. Tapovan campsite, Gangotri National Park, Garhwal Himalaya, India. Apx 4500m above sea level. 'Tapovan' means "Garden of Penance" in Sanskrit, and has many caves where Hindu monks (Sadhus) dwell in silence. This Shivalinga is the object of worship for one of them.
