I had heard through the grapevine that unusual creatures were showing up on the Central Coast beach. Everyone speculated a recent hurricane had blown By-the-Wind Sailors off course. A couple weeks ago, I went to Cayucos, CA. These amazing creatures, the first I had ever seen, were washing up by the hundreds, and stuck in the tideline detritus. People can have an allergic reaction to them. I took the risk, and collected as many as I could, to photograph. These are my best find ever!!
