The End of Summer
Most likely, their queen has died and the larvae have lost their ability to produce the sugar these workers require. The hummingbirds have been gone for about a week now, but I left my feeders up for any stragglers who might be passing through on their migration and so these little ladies will have a place to dine until the frost comes.
