"Matsuri" Photo by Nina, age 9
Nagakute, the town in Japan that we live in, has been holding a festival of thanks in years when the harvest is good, for over 450 years. Starting at 6:00 in the morning, the participants march around town, stopping at various locations to fire their matchlock muskets and have mock battles. It has been passed on from generation to generation among local families, and everyone in the family, from kids to grandparents, participate. These are some of the photos we got.
